How is your care planned?
Your examination helps guide the next steps. Care may include hands-on treatment, exercises, and practical guidance for managing symptoms between visits.
What can contribute to pain and stiffness?
Discomfort can develop gradually or start after a particular movement or activity. Repeated lifting, an awkward movement, or spending long periods in one position may contribute. Stress can also increase muscle tension and make discomfort harder to manage.
There isn’t always one clear cause. Noticing when symptoms appear—and what helps or aggravates them—can give you useful details to discuss during your visit.
Common symptoms and concerns
Low back pain
An ache, tightness, or sharper pain in the lower back when sitting, standing, bending, or lifting.
Neck pain and stiffness
Soreness or limited movement when turning your head, such as looking over your shoulder while driving.
Tight shoulders and upper-back discomfort
Tension or tenderness across your shoulders or between your shoulder blades, with muscles that feel difficult to relax.
Headaches with neck discomfort
Headaches that occur alongside soreness, tightness, or stiffness in your neck and shoulders.
Stiffness after staying in one position
Tightness when you first get moving after sitting or resting for a while.
Pain when bending, lifting, or reaching
Pain during movements such as picking something up from the floor or reaching overhead.
Pain that travels, tingling, or numbness
Pain that extends into an arm or leg, sometimes with pins and needles or reduced feeling. These sensations can occur when a spinal nerve is irritated.
Recurring flare-ups
Pain or stiffness that settles down, then returns.
